Walter - Walt Williams
I express my creativity through intimate portraits of nature’s gifts. As the sun rises I carry my camera into our 3 acre garden in Billings, Montana, to celebrate and capture the beauty of the multitude of flowers, trees and shrubbery. I circle the roses, stalk the lilies and delight in the blossoms of the iris. I have been taking photos of floral images for 30 years and have recently been showing my work as Giclee art prints. My recent work has been inspired by the floral surroundings where I work and create.

As a child in the Puget Sound area of Western Washington I drew maps to learn geography of the world. As a young man I took painting classes with Del Kay whose influence is evident in my work today.

After military service in the US Army I studied fine art and advertising at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.

Later I worked in newspaper advertising, promotional photography, graphic design as well as marketing and product development for the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming.

My interest in horticulture was obvious when I loved being in and around my grandmothers gardens and the small green house my mother had when I was young. Subsequent classes in estate landscaping from a designer out of England and college classes in botany and horticulture brought me to Billings where I co-manage DanWalt Gardens with my partner Dan Jellison.
